For many years now Corgi have trained and registered plumbers and heating engineers. In December 2008 the Health and Safety executive awarded the contract for gas safety to "Gas Safe" who became responsible for training and registering plumbers and heating engineers from April 2009

There is a grace period allowing companies to register with Gas Safe if they were previously registered with Corgi, but you should always check the credentials of anyone purporting to be a registered installer.
